What is Udyam Registration?

Udyam Registration (formerly Udyog Aadhaar) is the official government registration for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in India. It is issued by the Ministry of MSME on the portal udyamregistration.gov.in.

Documents Required

MSME registration is not mandatory — but it is highly recommended. Without registration, you cannot access government loans, subsidies, tender reservations, or any of the 50+ MSME-exclusive benefits. It's free from the government, so there's no reason not to register!
Yes! If your turnover is below the GST threshold (₹40 lakh for goods, ₹20 lakh for services), you don't need GST. Proprietorships and partnerships can register on Udyam portal without GSTIN. Only companies and LLPs mandatorily need to provide GSTIN.
Udyam Registration replaced the old Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) and EM-II systems in July 2020. If you have an old UAM certificate, it was valid till March 2021. You should migrate to the new Udyam portal to continue getting benefits. We handle this migration for you.
